We are a 5 min walk from Bondi Junction Railway and Bus Interchange, just turn right and walk through the outdoor mall.

Centennial Park is directly across the road, so we are easy to find if you have a mechanical whilst in the park.

It also is a great place to test ride our demo bikes & wheels.

We get asked this question from time to time and the answer is simple – it isn’t! But this is only true when you have the appropriate training and experience, which is what seperates backyard tool twinkers from qualified mechanics.

With the market trending to buying online, why should you buy locally?

A number of sales from BikeBar now go overseas & to interstate buyers and as such we have a lot of new customers brining parts & bikes bought overseas to be assembled

Tyres, inner tubes & some spare parts are fine when you know exactly what you are looking for

Some things are a little bit more complex, especially when it comes to ergonomic equipment (your position & fit). Buy products that can be fitted correctly using the latest technology, especially when buying shoes, your cleat positioning should be done by a professional

Are you buying online? Bring it to BikeBar were we can ensure you don’t void your warranty through improper assembly

Incorrect choices can be a problem

Sizing via online sizing methods is fraught with danger and very inaccurate
All bikes bought have stems too long, bars to narrow or wide, cranks too short or ling, saddles that may need replacing, nuts and bolts and even whole parts missing

Hidden costs mean the screen price is only part of the cost

Credit card processing fees are 2.5-4% from overseas suppliers

Credit card fees on exchange rates are between 3-5% below the quoted exchange rate

Purchases over $1000 are slugged with 5% duty, 10% gst, on top of customs fees and freight. A bike will set you back between 150 and 350 in customs fees, plus local couriers on top of the tax and freight charges

Incorrect choice is your concern and at your cost

Manufacturer Warranty is only honoured in the country where the goods are purchased so any goods not purchased here in Australia, need to be returned to where they were purchased for assesment. This is at the customers expense! Freighting a frame back to the USA and getting it back here can cost $1000. This is the beginning of the expense. Assessment by a Bikestop costs $, so does disassembly and rebuild

In many cases, warranty is not possible because thhe bike was not assembled by the supplier and therefore the supplier can argue that the fault was due to incorrect assembly or innapprorite use

But more importantly the parts or collection of parts need assembly and the online shop you purchased from is not liable for warranty if they don’t assemble them should any warranty be required where there is even the slightest doubt about where the bike was assembled and who by, as only a history of the assembly by a qualified mechanic can truly eliminate this issue

So bring your purchase in and we can ensure it’s ambled professionally and fits you properly to make sure your warranty and safety are ensured
