January 2010 Cycling & Multisport Camp
2nd of January till the 12th of January.
This camp will be based in Sydney for those athletes that wish the keep the comforts of home whilst creating the proper environment to train. Our camp is built to service the mileage and fitness requirements desired for cyclist and triathletes with several packages available so each athlete can achieve their goals in 2010.
The packages start with a Vo2max test to set up training zones for each athlete. This test provides quality data to identify individual metabolism efficiency and training zones to build the capacity to perform in the racing arena. After the conclusion of the camp athletes will be retested to obtain new training zones and metabolic efficiency to set up the next stage of programming for periodize training.
The BikeLab Squadra camp is designed around the sports science principles that been trialed and proven in all levels of competition around the world. Camp sessions are designed to maximize individual focus in a group dynamic environment. Athletes are able to focus on individual performance parameters whilst enjoying the social interaction of the group.
The packages available are
• Cycling (includes both tests)
• Multi-sport (includes both tests)
• Session blocks (10 sessions)
• Session blocks (10 sessions with both tests)
The packages that make up the camp are targeted to bring the most for athletes specifically for their sport. The cycling package is aimed around delivering the base miles on the bike conditioning the aerobic metabolic system, body strength and balance. This enables the rider to perform at higher race type intensities with greater efficiency and capability. The multi-sport package is aimed at endurance athletes taking on ironman or adventure racing. This package is tailored in delivering swim/bike/run sessions balanced to once again deliver conditioning of the aerobic metabolic system, body strength and balance. By training in these zones athletes are better able to race longer distances by efficiently burning fuels for energy and removing wastes from their cells meaning they can go longer and harder without reaching the critical failure point.

Each bike session will have a support vehicle that will meet the group at a designated time and location. This vehicle will have limited supplies or equipment and therefore is the responsibility of each person to carry the equipment they may require. The vehicle is there to support and store basic essentials for the group like wet weather gear, addition fluids and lunch.
About Life are actively supporting the BikeLab Squadra camp and will be providing tailored lunches, snacks and refreshments to provide nutritionally rich meals to support training load. Nutrition is based off the testing data so we can accurately design and calculate the proper nutritional requirements for each individual athlete.
Each athlete at the camp will be given a program delivered through training peaks website. This will also enable all athletes to upload and log their training data from Garmin, Suunto and Polar systems after each session is completed. Individual athlete data logs can be analyzed by the coaching staff, with feedback available on request. The use of Garmin, Suunto and Polar systems is a critical part of the training camp in ensuring all athletes adhere to the specifics of each session. If an athlete does not have one of these systems Bike Bar Bondi will provide these subsidized systems for athletes of the camp (please notify staff when booking if you require a unit).

Bike and run sessions will meet and leave from the Bike Bar Bondi and finish back there. Swim sessions will be run at either Bondi or Clovelly beach. Maps of each session will be provided to all athletes on the camp including refreshment/lunch/fluid/toilet stops along the way.
